Invisalign®
How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign depends on how much your teeth need to move and how long treatment takes. At Behl Orthodontics you get your exact fee, what it includes and your payment options in writing at a free consultation, before you decide.
What affects the cost
Two people can pay very different amounts for Invisalign because no two smiles need the same work. These are the main factors:
- How complex the movement is: mild spacing is simpler than crowding or a bite problem.
- How long treatment runs and how many aligners your plan needs.
- Whether you need extras, such as elastics or attachments, or treatment with your dentist.
- What the fee includes: records, visits, refinement aligners and retainers.
Typical Invisalign fees
Every fee is set for the individual patient after an exam. Our typical ranges, the same at every office, are:
- Invisalign for teens: $5,500 to $7,500
- Invisalign for adults: $6,500 to $8,500
What your fee includes
Your quoted fee covers your whole treatment:
- Records: X-rays, iTero digital scans, photos and CBCT 3D imaging when needed
- All check-up visits during treatment
- Emergency and repair visits, such as a lost or broken aligner
- Your first set of retainers and retention check-ups
- Coordination with your general dentist and other dental specialists
- Remote monitoring between visits
Does insurance cover Invisalign?
Often, yes. Many dental plans with an orthodontic benefit apply it to Invisalign the same way they apply it to braces, but it depends on your plan. Orthodontic benefits usually have a lifetime maximum, and some have age limits.
Our team checks your orthodontic benefit, files the claims for you and explains what your plan is likely to cover before you start.
Invisalign with TRICARE
We are in network with the TRICARE Dental Program and with FEDVIP dental plans for military retirees, for orthodontics where your plan includes it. See how TRICARE orthodontic benefits work.
Ways to pay
You can spread the cost or pay up front:
Example payments for a $7,274 comprehensive treatment fee for a child, with $1,000 down and an orthodontic insurance benefit of $1,500, leaving $4,774: no-interest plan, 23 payments of $198.92 and a final payment of $198.84 (24 payments, $4,774 in total, 0% APR); longer plan, 61 payments of $99 and a final payment of $89.86 (62 payments, $6,128.86 in total, 9.99% APR). Paid in full, the same fee is $6,910.30 after the 5% discount, before insurance. Insurance benefits vary; with no insurance or a smaller benefit, payments are higher. OrthoFi payment plans.
- A down payment of $500 to $2,000 is required, based on your credit score
- No interest on plans of up to 24 months
- Longer monthly plans through OrthoFi at 9.99% APR
- 5% off the treatment fee when you pay in full at the start of treatment
- HSA and FSA cards, and most major credit cards
Comparing quotes fairly
If you are comparing practices or comparing Invisalign with braces, ask each one the same questions:
- Is the fee for my whole treatment, including refinement aligners if I need them?
- Are records, check-ups and emergency visits included?
- Are my first retainers included?
- Who plans and monitors my treatment: an orthodontist?
